You will promote social inclusion and offer opportunities for people within Adult Services (Resources), Complex and Critical Care Services across Fife.

You will be supporting people who experience challenges with their health, which may include physical health, mental health, Autism, or learning disabilities. You’ll provide support with various aspects of daily life.

Your role involves delivering care and support, including participating in social and recreational activities. As each individual is different, the care and support provided will be tailored accordingly. You will encourage people to make their own decisions and choices to live as independently as possible.

You will support service users by enhancing their social and independent living skills in their own homes, following a person-centered approach that promotes social inclusion principles.

The Role

Responsibilities include all aspects of personal care. Must be able to perform all Moving and Handling maneuvers, including pushing and pulling wheelchairs.

Flexibility in working hours and days is required, depending on the needs of service users.

The successful candidate will work on an as-required basis, including days, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, wakened nights, and during public holidays, Christmas, and New Year.

The role promotes social inclusion by working with people to maximize their independence, health, and wellbeing, helping them access local community opportunities.

This position involves working both as part of a team and independently.

The Person

Must have or be willing to achieve, within the first registration period, the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 5 (equivalent to SVQ2) or an equivalent qualification to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration requirements.

Before appointment, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.

Since this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.

It is advised to start your registration process promptly to ensure registration within six months.

If a qualification is needed to maintain your SSSC membership, guidance will be provided upon appointment. Completing the qualification within the specified timeframe is essential.
