Job summary

St Marys Riverside in Hessle is seeking a Care Assistant to join the luxury riverside home near the Humber Bridge. This permanent, full-time role covers 39 hours per week with alternate weekends, offering a chance to make every day matter in a calm, modern setting.

You’ll deliver compassionate, dignity‑driven care, lead and support a night team as needed, and keep detailed care plans while liaising with GPs and managers to ensure high‑quality, personalised care for residents.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Experience in a similar care role is preferred.
  • Warm, approachable and compassionate with residents.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering exceptional care - support residents with daily living while maintaining dignity.
  • Lead and support your team - supervise junior staff and guide new starters.
  • Provide attentive, personalised support including physical, emotional, and spiritual care.
  • Support residents with mobility needs using aids safely.
  • Monitor residents with confusion or behavioural needs and provide reassurance.
  • Promote continence and overall wellbeing.
  • Support end‑of‑life care with comfort and compassion.
  • Complete and review care plans; keep records in line with policy.
  • Encourage hobbies and social activities to keep residents engaged.
  • Respond to calls and communication via nurse calls, phone, and door access.
  • Liaise with GPs and managers to ensure high‑quality care.

What You’ll Be Doing
