Job summary

Thornfield Care Home on the outskirts of Seaton is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to support residents with daily living and wellbeing. You will work within a supportive team, delivering high quality, person-centred care with dignity and respect.

The role requires alternating weekends and offers full or part-time hours, paid DBS pension, uniform provided, and five and a half weeks’ annual leave for full-time staff.

• Previous care experience is beneficial but not essential.
• NVQ Level 2 is desirable or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living, including personal care, mobility, nutrition and wellbeing.
• Follow care plans and recognise changes to provide safe, responsive care.
• Work in a supportive team to create a warm, caring environment.
• Open to both experienced carers and those new to care, with training and development provided.
• Alternate weekends are required.
• Shifts: 07:30–20:15; 07:30–14:00; 14:00–20:15; 20:00–08:00.

Job description

Thornfield Care Home is situated on the outskirts of the lovely seaside town of Seaton which is located on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. Thornfield Care Home is registered for 52 residents.

Care Assistant Contract

• £13.00 per hour
• Full & Part time hours available
• Paid DBS pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in our residents lives everyday. This role is central to delivering high quality, person centred care that supports dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.

You will support individuals with daily living including personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable, respected and valued. By following care plans and recognising changes in condition, you will contribute to safe, responsive and consistent care.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a warm and positive environment where relationships matter and people feel truly cared for. This opportunity is open to both experienced carers and those new to care, with full training, guidance and ongoing development provided to support your journey.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

The shift patterns are: 0730-2015; 0730-1400; 1400-2015 and 2000-0800.
