Job summary

Advantage Healthcare, part of CCH, is seeking a Complex Care Assistant to provide dedicated support for a young adult with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. You will receive full training and clinical support to handle complex needs, including tracheotomy, ventilation and stoma care, among other tasks, with family collaboration. A full UK driving licence is required for shifts and travel across Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in epilepsy and seizure management is advantageous
• PEG feeding experience is advantageous
• Medication administration experience is advantageous
• Moving and handling equipment experience is advantageous

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your current skill base and join us as a Complex Care Assistant. You will have full training and clinical support to develop and enhance skills in various complex areas such as tracheotomy, ventilation, seizure management, and stoma care plus so much more! This rewarding, person-centred role involves supporting a young adult with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, which is a severe form of Epilepsy. He lives with his parents and siblings, enjoys music and sensory and spending time outdoor and with family. This role will require assistance with PEG feeding, a Vagus Nerve simulator to help with seizure management, washing, dressing, bowel management, medication administration and manual handling with assistance from his family.

• Moving & Handling Equipment

The only requirement would be that you will need a full valid UK licence.

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Shifts: 10 hour shifts

Driver required: Yes - full manual licence and access to your own vehicle
