Responsibilities

• Fournir un soutien en classe adapté aux élèves et aux petits groupes.
• Assister les élèves dans leurs besoins de soins personnels, y compris l'alimentation, les toilettes et le soutien à la mobilité.
• Contribuer à la mise en œuvre des plans d'éducation individuel et des stratégies de soutien au comportement.
• Soutenir les enseignants et les thérapeutes pour délivrer des leçons engageantes et inclusives.
• Encourager l'indépendance, la communication et le développement social des élèves.

Job description

On behalf of a well-established and highly regarded special needs primary school in Tower Hamlets, we are recruiting a dedicatedCare Assistant / Teaching Assistantto join their team. The successful candidate will support pupils aged 4–11 who have a range of complex needs, including autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

This role is integral to the daily life of the school and offers a rewarding opportunity to positively impact children’s learning and well-being.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing tailored classroom support to individual pupils and small groups
• Assisting pupils with personal care requirements, including feeding, toileting and mobility support
• Contributing to the implementation of individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
• Supporting teachers and therapists to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
• Encouraging pupils’ independence, communication, and social development

Candidate Requirements

• A caring, patient and empathetic approach to working with children with special educational needs
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliability and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
• A valid dbs on the update service, or a willingness to do so.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
