Fife Council is seeking dedicated support workers to assist adults with learning disabilities. The role involves personal care support, managing various tasks and training provided for specific certifications. Must have or be willing to achieve, within the first registration period, the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 5 (equivalent to SVQ2) or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration. Skills required include communication, organisation, workload management and prioritisation, ability to work with minimal supervision, team working, literacy, and basic IT skills. Ability to provide support to individuals with personal care needs, medication administration, budgeting, cooking, cleaning, moving & handling, and physical tasks such as kneeling on beds and floors and rising without difficulty.
You are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of employment and complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) during the first registration period.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration. If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible to ensure registration within the required six months. More details are included in the role profile.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
