Overview

Ty Clyd Residential Home is looking for 2 x Care Assistants to provide care and support for older adults. You will be required to carry out duties to support residents in a dignified and respectful manner, promoting independence and wellbeing and adopt a person-centred approach.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care and support to older adults in a dignified and respectful manner.
  • Promote independence, wellbeing and a person-centred approach for residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families and colleagues, in writing and verbally.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience of working with older people is beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the principles that underpin quality care (e.g., dignity and choice).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Clear understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of the post; courteous and responsive to individuals’ needs.
  • Essential: applicants are in receipt of / working towards Level 2 in care (previously NVQ 2) or willingness to achieve the qualification within a specified timeframe.
  • The ability and willingness to work flexibly, including weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in duties.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
Hours and Salary
  • 28 hours per week: 4 x 7 hour shifts over a 7 day week, on a 2 week pattern.
  • 17 hours per week (34 hours every 2 weeks): Week 1 - 14 hours; Week 2 - 20 hours. These hours rotate; additional hours may be available.
