Job Type(s): Full and part time positions available

Salary: £12.40 per hour + paid travel time and mileage.

Candlelight Care are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and reliable individuals to join our dedicated and friendly, family-run team, supporting vulnerable adults in the comfort of their own homes within Wimborne and the surrounding areas. We currently have opportunities for both full and part-time Care and Support Workers. Our typical shift patterns run from 7am - 2pm and/or 4pm up to 10pm. We also ask for a commitment to working alternate weekends. Driving is not always essential depending on location.

Key Responsibilities of a Care Support Worker:

Every day is different when you work in Health and Social Care, however, you should expect to get to know your clients and their interests and needs. Give emotional and practical support, assist with personal care (washing, toileting, dressing) domestic household tasks and food preparation, all tailored to each individual's needs.

You will also be assisting with medication, use of mobility aids and personal equipment where required, and have a responsibility to report to the Registered Manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a client.

At Candlelight Care we believe in encouraging and enabling our clients to remain as independent as possible whilst acting in their best interests and protecting and safeguarding their wellbeing.

What Candlelight Care can offer you:

  • £300 Welcome Bonus for all new staff
  • Competitive Mileage and Travel time
  • Full and ongoing training + career progression opportunities (NVQ)
  • Referral scheme - worth up to £300 per referral!
  • Blue Light Discount Card
  • Annual Awards Ceremony
  • Company Smart Phone
  • 28 days holiday pro-rata
  • Employee Assistance Programme - offering support and advice to all our team when they need it most.
  • Workplace Pension (subject to conditions)
  • Uniform and Full PPE for all staff to protect staff and clients.
  • Rewarding work that allows you to have a meaningful impact on others.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Empathetic and understanding nature, with a desire to help people.
  • The ability to work well both on your own, and with others.
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Full driving license and access to your own vehicle - although walking/cycling routes are available in some areas, please enquire.

If this sounds appealing to you, and you fancy joining a company that has been caring for people of all ages in their own homes for over 35 years, as well as being recognised as a Top 20 Recommended Home Care Group in the UK for 2023 by homecare.co.uk, what are you waiting for?
