Care and Support Assistant (Part-Time) at The Gloucester Charities Trust

Gloucester Charities Trust is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care and Support Assistant to join the team at Magdalen House in Gloucester. This part-time role (12 hours per week) is ideal for individuals who are empathetic to the needs of older people and committed to ongoing professional development.

About the Trust

Founded in the 1800s, Gloucester Charities Trust provides quality, affordable accommodation for older people in Gloucester. The trust offers sheltered housing for Gloucestershire residents and residential care for individuals from any location, ensuring a smooth transition from independent living to specialist care.

Services include:
  • Sheltered housing with security and independence.
  • Residential care at Guild House, featuring specialist dementia care in Bluebell and Grace wings.
  • Modern residential care at Magdalen House.
  • Dementia day services at the Kimbrose Club, with staff trained in specialist dementia care.

Position: Care and Support Assistant

Job Type: Part Time

Location: Gloucester

About the Role

Care and Support Assistant Magdalen House – 12 hrs per week

£12.25 per hour if meds trained, plus £1.00 per hour at weekends (or starting at £12.00 per hour and increasing when meds trained)

8pm to midnight – three shifts per week (12hrs per week over two week rota)

Magdalen House (our 29-bed home) is a beautifully presented Residential Care Home for older people. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced carer who believes delivering resident health and wellbeing is the highest priority.

The job will suit candidates who are skilled and compassionate, are empathetic to the needs of older people, and looking for ongoing development. Those holding a minimum of NVQ/QCF 2 in Health and Social Care, or the Care Certificate are encouraged to apply.
