Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Staff Nurse to join Ward 32, a busy 29‑bed acute cardiology ward with a CCU and a 6‑bed day suite. You will work with a supportive team, delivering high‑quality care and rotating through all areas, with full preceptorship for newly qualified nurses.

We welcome both newly qualified and experienced nurses who have excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• 1st Level NMC Registration.
• Evidence of Professional Development.
• Suitable for newly qualified or experienced nurse.
• Experience of maintaining accurate records.
• Relevant clinical knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care for a named caseload.
• Create a therapeutic environment for patients, relatives and carers.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary team.
• Promote evidence-based care and change.
• Participate in audits.
• Update own skills and knowledge.
• Act as shift coordinator in absence of manager.
• Precept or assess junior staff and students.
• Supervise and lead junior staff.
• Undertake staff appraisals.
• Contribute to ward objectives.
• Adhere to policies and guidelines.
• Ensure effective communication with patients and families.
