Job summary

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Cardiology Clinical Audit Officer to join the Cardiac services team. You will collect admission data to benchmark against national standards and work with cardiac nurse teams and the NCA audit department to report key metrics.

The role targets candidates with clinical audit expertise, strong data collection and analytic skills, and familiarity with national cardiac audits. Training is provided and a flexible working arrangement is considered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of clinical audit and data collection.
• Strong analytic skills with Excel and pivot tables.
• Understanding of national cardiac audits (HF/MINAP) is desirable.
• Experience with NHS IT structures is a plus; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Guide planning and delivery of national, regional and Alliance agendas.
• Undertake governance activities with data reporting in various formats.
• Retrieve raw data from medical records and hospital systems for analysis and reporting.
• Maintain data systems to ensure accurate, timely data collection and validation.
• Compile reports and present findings in written and oral formats.
• Represent the Directorate at relevant meetings and manage priorities.
• Attend meetings, feedback outcomes, and participate in staff training on data collection.
• Uphold confidentiality and health & safety for self and others.
