Job summary
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills to join our friendly booking team at the William Harvey Hospital. The ideal candidate will be IT literate and work well under pressure in a busy environment and able to work accurately and effectively using your own initiative as part of a team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable candidate who ideally would be resilient and flexible to deliver a positive experience to all patients and service providers by the provision of an efficient, confidential and professional service.

Working hours are 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm.

Main duties of the job
We manage a high amount of referrals into the Cardiology department, we aim to book the patients within a reasonable timeframe to progress their pathways.

Qualifications & Training
Essential

• GCSE or equivalent passes in English
• Computer literate
• To be numerate

Skills & Experience
Essential

• Good verbal communication skills
• A sensitive, caring approach to people
• Be able to cope with demanding work and meet required Trust targets.
• Able to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
• Diplomacy and discretion regarding patient confidentiality
• Computer skills including Windows-based operating systems.
• Previous experience in customer service/reception.
• Booking appointments while upholding 18-week RTT targets and Rapid Access pathways

Desirable

• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt with the needs of a changing service
• Working knowledge of PAS, previous experience of NHS, understanding of 18-week Referral to Treatment

• The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff, and other health service business in accordance with Trust Policy
