Cardiology Advanced Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced advanced practitioner nurse to join our cardiology team and play a leading role in service transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver patient-centred care at an advanced level, while shaping the future of clinical practice within our Trust.

It is a combined clinical leadership role. The postholder will be involved in the direct management of patients - inpatient and virtual as well as leading the cardiology specialist nursing team.

The successful candidate will be educated to Master fs level in advanced clinical practice and demonstrate expert knowledge and skills across the four pillars of advanced practice:

  • Leadership and collaborative practice
  • Improving quality and developing practice
  • Developing self and others

The post holder will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to lead the development of clinical standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines that reflect best practice and innovation

Main duties of the job
  • Act as a highly specialist clinical leader and role model across the cardiology service
  • Manage a case load of patients, independently review and order tests for inpatients and virtual ward patients, review results and escalate accordingly.
  • Lead the ongoing development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service and Trust
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of service transformation initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Support the development of digital healthcare solutions, including virtual wards
  • Mentor and support colleagues in their professional development
