An integrated care system is seeking a Superintendent Radiographer to oversee the Cardiac Cath Lab at the Morriston site in Swansea. The ideal candidate will possess a BSc/DCR, significant leadership experience in radiography, and a commitment to patient-centered care. You'll be responsible for operational management and staff training, ensuring top-quality service within the regulations and guidelines of healthcare standards.
We are looking to appoint a Superintendent Radiographer to lead the Cardiac Cath Lab services on the Morriston site. You should be a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer with current HCPC registration.
This role will predominantly involve the day to day planning of the service and to provide the operational leadership that this requires. You should have substantial experience in Cardiac Cath Lab Imaging, be BSc / DCR qualified, be able to demonstrate evidence of organisational and leadership skills and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Swansea Bay University Health Board Radiology services are provided on three main sites: Morriston (Swansea), Singleton (Swansea) and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals. The Radiology Departments are committed to providing training and development for all staff. All Radiographers are involved with teaching undergraduate student Radiographers from the University Hospital of Wales.
We are looking to appoint a Superintendent Radiographer to lead the Cardiac Cath Lab services on the Morriston site. Swansea Bay University Health Board is a Cardiac centre of excellence, and facilitates a cardiac intensive care unit, high dependency unit, coronary care unit, along with 3 additional cardiac wards.
The post holder will provide leadership and operational management to the Radiology team within the Catheter Laboratory environment. They will be responsible for ensuring the service operates in full compliance with current Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations [IR(ME)R] and all relevant local policies. Also contribute to Medical Exposure Group (MEG) meetings and lead preparations for Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) inspections related to the Catheter Laboratory.
A key aspect of this role is to ensure the delivery of a safe, effective, and high-quality radiographic service to patients within Swansea Bay University Health Board, through the optimal use of available resources.
The post holder will oversee and coordinate staff training specific to this modality and will contribute to the provision of a 24-hour on-call service for the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. The post holder will also contribute to the Cardiac on-call service.
