Qualifications

  • Conduct Echocardiograms following the British Society of Echocardiography standards.
  • Analyse and interpret images, preparing reports independently.
  • Maintain ultrasound machine and oversee ordering of consumables.

Richmond Pharmacology is a leading Contract Research Organisation (CRO) specialising in early-phase clinical trials for pharmaceutical and biotechnology sponsors. The Role:

The main purpose of the Cardiac Sonographer is to perform cardiac ultrasounds or Echocardiograms on Richmond Pharmacology’s patient participants, utilising specialised equipment and techniques to obtain clear and accurate images of the heart’s structure and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and detailed images of the heart by conducting Echocardiograms, following the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) standard.
  • Analyse and interpret the obtained images, preparing reports independently on the cardiac scans conducted.
  • Retrieve images from ultrasound equipment and, if required, upload them to the central laboratory system.
  • Uphold a strict commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Complete the Case Report Form (CRF) page after each scan.

Additional responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the maintenance of the ultrasound machine.
  • Oversee the ordering of essential consumables such as gel, electrodes, paper towels, bedrolls etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc or above in cardiac Physiology or equivalent Accreditation.
  • Master’s level qualification in Echocardiography.
  • Expertise in performing Echocardiograms
  • (2D, 3D, Strain Imaging) and stress echocardiograms (Treadmill and dobutamine).
  • Skilled in medical imaging interpretation
