  • Assisting in pacemaker and ILR implant
  • Performing pacemaker and ILR follow up (including remote follow up)
  • Cardiac catheter lab – including the 24 hour PPCI service (an on-call room is available for this)

Following completion of the preceptorship which lasts 12-18 months, you will specialise into your area of interest, and start working towards professional accreditation. We are looking forward to welcoming the successful candidate to our vibrant and enthusiastic team!

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine, urgent and emergency cardiac investigations competently and complete an accurate report based on your findings in a timely manner.
  • Complete a preceptorship logbook of evidence and assessments to demonstrate clinical competence.
  • Perform clinical audit and surveys, within scope of practice, to improve the services delivered by the department.
  • Participate in the on-call 24 hour primary PCI rota.
  • Participate in the training and development of both external university students and junior team members.
  • Communicate and interact effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and positive patient experience.
  • Assist all senior colleagues in the day to day organisation and delivery of the cardiac physiology service.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire. Cardiac Investigations and Cardiac Measurements operates across both Basingstoke and North Hampshire and Royal Hampshire County Hospitals. We are a dynamic and friendly team of around 25 physiologists, clinical scientists, associate practitioners, cardiographers and administrators. It is an exciting time for Cardiology within HHFT as we just opened two new cardiac catheter labs along with a new day case unit, which enabled us to start an electrophysiology and ablation service.
