Cardiac Physiologist

WAHT have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, self motivated cardiac physiologist to join our friendly team based at the Alexandra Hospital. The individual should be competent in carrying out a wide range ofcomplex, non-invasive cardiac investigations including analysis, reporting ofresults and clinical interpretation, pacemaker and device follow up, in personand virtually, performing ECG and exercise tolerance testing. We will offer training and development towards professional qualifications such as BHRS, IBHRE.

Main duties of the job

Perform as lead Physiologist in Cardiac Physiologist led ExerciseTolerance Tests. (ETTs) Without supervision, analyse and report the results ofthe procedure, in accordance with national and departmental protocols andprocedures.Provide Physiologist supportduring Medically supervised ETTs.Independentlyperform pacemaker and device follow ups, including analysing complex data and recognise when to re-programme appropriateparameters as per manufacturer and departmental policies and protocols for individual patients. This includes followup of devices remotely via home monitoring. Supportall areas of the cardiac devices services including ad hoc in patient checks,MRI support, switch offs for surgical procedures and monitoring patients viathe home monitoring systems.Prepare, hook up, remove, download,analyse the recordings, providing written reports on 24 hr Ambulatory ECGrecorders, Blood Pressure recorders and Cardiac Event recorders, according tothe departmental procedures and protocols. Perform Electrocardiograms on allcategories of patients within the trust. Interpret the results and inform therelevant Physician of any adverse abnormalities, as per the departmentalprotocol and procedure.Responsible for setting upequipment, preparing and carrying out Tilt table testing for medically andPhysiologist supervised investigations.Accurately recording all tests anddata on the Trusts computer and IT systems and programs.
