Cardiac Physiologist

Location: London Bridge Hospital, London

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Salary: Competitive dependent on experience

We're looking for a Physiologist to join our Physiology service at The London Bridge Hospital, currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC.

Our Cardiology Department has gained a world-wide reputation as a centre of excellence, and offers innovation in the diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients with all forms of heart disease. We have a dedicated unit of 18 registered Clinical Physiologists trained to the highest standard in cardiological assessment, divided into teams of specialists within fields such as Electrophysiology, Implantable Devices, Echocardiography & Non-Invasive investigation, as well as Respiratory and Sleep.

Our Cardiology & Respiratory Department has gained a world-wide reputation as a centre of excellence, and offers innovation in the diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients with all forms of heart disease and respiratory disorders. We have a dedicated unit of 18 registered Clinical Physiologists trained to the highest standard with 4 specialist physiologists that provide excellent diagnostic services in both Respiratory diagnostics and sleep disorders investigations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate highly developed knowledge and skills in a broad range of cardiac investigations.
  • Perform a wide range of procedures independently on adults, including stress testing, tilt testing and BP and HR ambulatory monitoring.
  • Provide expert and specialist advice to patients, colleagues and clinicians regarding outcomes of cardiology procedures and results.
  • Follow, and support Lead Physiologist create, departmental guidelines and protocols for each procedure relevant to the post.
  • Assist Lead physiologist with various aspects of stock management and quality control.
  • Assist Lead physiologist to investigate any equipment faults and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Be willing to work overtime and embrace the ad hoc nature of our work.
  • Have an accommodating and proactive attitude to work.
What You'll Bring:
  • Registered/accredited by the AHCS
  • Post qualification experience of working within a cardiology unit
  • In possession of Immediate Life Support status
  • Confident communicator with high levels of written and spoken English
  • Working knowledge of IT systems, such as Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Previous experience of working within a private hospital is desirable
