An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative nurse to join NHS Fife’s Community Cardiac Specialist Nurse Team as a Cardiac Clinical Nurse Specialist.
The Cardiac CNS Service operates Monday to Friday during business hours. We provide holistic and evidenced based specialist care to people diagnosed with various cardiac conditions Fife. We have 2 bases Stratheden Hospital and Lynebank Hospital. You will be based at Stratheden but will work Fife wide as required. You will participate in the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the service thereby improving the management, treatment and support of patients with cardiac conditions, and their carers/families. The service aims to support self management, improve quality of life and reduce unnecessary hospital admission / re-admission. The service provides seamless care between the primary care and acute care settings.
You Will Be Offered a Band 6 If
You are experienced Cardiac CNS with a non-medical prescribing qualification and have undertaken Level 11 post graduate qualifications in clinical assessment & decision making. As a band 6, part of your role will involve supporting colleagues.
You will be offered a band 5 to band 6 under Annex 21 if:
You are an experienced nurse with significant cardiology experience, educated to degree level with evidence of recent CPD and willing to undertake the qualifications listed above. This will be done under Annex 21 (see attached for more info).
You will require excellent communication skills and be able to work as a member of the wider Health and Social Care Team with the ability to work autonomously utilising your own initiative, clinical judgement and decision making.
As this is Fife wide community post you will be required to reliably and efficiently travel whenever required across various sites/ bases/ and patient’s homes across Fife.
