A leading NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified Catheter Laboratory Nurse to join their dynamic team. The role involves responsibility for nursing care of patients in the Cardiac Catheterisation Suite and requires in-depth knowledge of cardiology procedures. Nurses will work collaboratively to provide high standards of care, participating in both elective and acute procedures while supporting patients through technical and emergency situations. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care of individual patients undergoing elective and acute procedures in the Cardiac Catheterisation Suite. Delivering a high standard of nursing care to patients.
Procedures are performed under local anaesthetic and/or sedation, typically requiring X-ray fluoroscopy. You will work in a diverse team, supporting each other.
You will participate in the Patient pre-assessment service, which requires specialist knowledge of cardiology procedures and the ability to apply this knowledge to individual patient circumstances. Handling complicated cases is common, and understanding the implications for patient care is crucial.
You will work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant guidelines to ensure high-quality nursing care.
The role involves invasive procedures under local anaesthetic and/or sedation, with fluoroscopy guidance. You will work a rota over a 5-day period and provide a 24/7 ‘On-Call’ service once deemed competent. You will also coordinate lab lists as appropriate.
