Job Opportunity: Carbon Scientist

We are seeking an exceptional Carbon Scientist to join our dedicated team. This role is fully remote, with international travel required, including potential attendance at the annual United Nations Conference of Parties (CoP).

Qualifications
  • Minimum MSc in environmental science, ecology, forestry, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with GIS analysis, MRV protocol development for farm/forest-based carbon measurement, and remote-sensing systems.
  • Familiarity with IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories and experience in modeling carbon stock changes.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets related to land-based, forestry, and agricultural systems.
  • Research experience in forestry and soil ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of standards like LSRG, SBTi FLAG, and VERRA.
Responsibilities
  • Apply scientific methods to measure and analyze carbon stocks and changes.
  • Develop and implement MRV protocols for land-based carbon projects.
  • Work with complex datasets to interpret carbon data accurately.
  • Travel internationally for project work and conferences.
