Overall Purpose of Role

The role involves promoting sustainability and facilitating the transition to sustainable practices within Barclays and for its clients. The incumbent will provide technical expertise, guidance, and analysis on CCUS projects, working with cross-disciplinary teams to evaluate feasibility, risks, and opportunities, and to develop strategies that maximize environmental and social impact alongside revenue.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide expertise on CCUS technologies (capture, transportation, storage).
  • Assess economic viability and technical feasibility of CCUS projects.
  • Research market trends, investment opportunities, and risks in sustainable finance and CCUS.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Create technical reports, presentations, and materials to communicate findings and support business development.
  • Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders such as bankers, traders, and partners.
  • Assist in client deal origination and execution, and develop advisory strategies.
  • Support internal training with expert content.

  • Collaborate across CIB to influence and deliver sustainable finance products and services.
