The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Carbon and Climate Consultant to be based in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, or Nottingham. As a consultant, you will work within a peer group of specialists and project managers, supported by a diverse team of consultants and senior directors. The role requires strong knowledge of climate change and the built environment, with skills in quantitative analysis and carbon accounting, alongside excellent report writing and communication skills. Stakeholder management skills are essential to develop relationships with clients and partners.

The scope includes research on climate change mitigation, modeling emissions, costs, revenues, and related data to inform strategies, and more.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Exploring and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data
2. Preparing and delivering compelling reports for clients and the public
3. Developing strategies and policy recommendations
4. Preparing and delivering presentations and training to clients and stakeholders
5. Participating in knowledge and skills networks within Arup and the professional community
6. Contributing to Arup’s corporate sustainability initiatives

Is this role right for you?

We seek candidates with:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a quantitative field. Other relevant qualifications will be considered. Candidates should be chartered or working towards chartership.
• Knowledge in at least two areas: climate change strategy and policy, GHG modeling, mitigation strategies, or carbon management.
• Knowledge in sectors such as public sector/cities, water, urban development, energy, or property.
• Experience in consulting or advisory roles in relevant fields.
