Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of a passionate team, this role as a Car Park Assistant plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service.
Hours: This role is an hourly paid, fixed-term role. Wherever possible, we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we’re looking for flexibility as it may be necessary to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We’d give you as much notice as possible. Weekend and bank holiday working will be required.
Salary: £11.50 per hour
Duration: Fixed-term until 28 February 2025

What it's like to work here
Change is taking place at Petworth House and Park, and the team is looking for innovative people to join them. The team is currently working to update the property’s visitor offering and highlight its internationally renowned collection of pictures and sculpture, as well as its Capability Brown-designed historic park and pleasure grounds. If you have lots of ideas, energy, and ambition, then Petworth House could be the place for you. You'll be reporting to the Welcome Manager and be part of a team of 16 staff members and 60 volunteers.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be working outdoors, meeting and greeting visitors, providing help and guidance on parking, and may be required to sell parking tickets. You'll help to keep the car park and surrounding area in good order and provide a courteous and informative service to visitors.
You'll also be responsible for answering queries and ensuring visitors can find everything they need for their visit. When interacting with customers, you’ll inform them of the work being done and what their contributions are funding, promoting local projects or our cause.
As this is an outdoor role, you'll need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
