Driver / Yard Operative – Immediate Starts

Newstaff Employment is currently recruiting Full-Time Yard Operatives to work for our client based in Bedford.

Requirements

• Have no more than 6 points on your license.
• Held license for more than 2 years.
• License must be UK and manual.
• Good English and communication skills are essential.
• Customer service skills.
• Perform daily vehicle checks.
• £12.44 per hour.

Shifts

Monday to Friday, hours between 8 am - 6 pm.

About the Role

• Store and park all vehicles on site between the yard and auction halls, via agreed valet/wash services, ensuring vehicles enter and leave the auction halls according to the sale day schedule.
• Barcode all new vehicles on arrival and tag keys.
• Electronically log and remove any valuable items left in vehicles.
• Be responsible for jump-starting vehicles when needed; on-site training provided.
• Line and lot vehicles for auction, ensuring they are neat, tidy, and presentable.
• Maintain a safe driving standard and adhere to speed limits on site at all times. Take care of all cars in your care and follow site and national speed limits.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed to prevent accidents.
• Politely refer issues, queries, or complaints to the relevant manager.
• Undertake any other tasks in the yard department to meet operational requirements.
