A leading maritime operator in Scotland is seeking an experienced captain (500 GT) to manage vessel operations. The candidate must hold a valid 500 GT Certificate of Competency and a DP certificate. Qualifications

• Valid 500 GT Certificate of Competency (CoC) required.
• Experience with Multicat or AHTS vessels is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of vessel operations and safety procedures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Take full command of the vessel ensuring safe navigation.

• Maintain communication with onshore operations and coordinate activities with the crew.
• Lead and manage the onboard team to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to procedures.

We are currently seeking an experienced captain (500 GT) to temporarily take command of one of our vessels. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified seafarer to contribute to a highly professional team in a dynamic operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take full command of the vessel, ensuring safe navigation and operation at all times
• Oversee daily deck operations, including towing, anchor handling, and barge movements
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Maintain communication with onshore operations and coordinate activities with the crew
• Lead and manage the onboard team to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to procedures
• Conduct safety drills and ensure readiness for emergency situations

Requirements

• Valid 500 GT Certificate of Competency (CoC)
• DP Certificate (Dynamic Positioning) – mandatory
• SDPO certification – preferred
• Experience with Multicat or AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply) vessels
• Right to work in the UK or British citizenship
• Solid knowledge of vessel operations and safety procedures
