Wigmore Trading, a dynamic and fast-growing trading company based in Lagos, Nigeria, is looking for a proactive and results-driven Capital Raising Specialist to join our team in London. This role is integral to supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans by securing funding and fostering strong relationships with key investors in the financial hub of London. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in raising capital, a deep understanding of financial markets, and exceptional networking skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fundraising: Identify, approach, and secure investment from institutional investors, private equity firms, venture capitalists, and other funding sources.
  • Investor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, managing relationships and ensuring clear and regular communication about the company’s performance and opportunities.
  • Pitch Development: Design and deliver compelling investment pitches, proposals, and presentations tailored to diverse investor audiences.
  • Market Research: Analyze funding trends, investment climates, and market opportunities to identify potential investors and strategic partnerships.
  • Due Diligence: Work closely with internal teams to address investor queries and ensure compliance with due diligence requirements.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop relationships with financial institutions, investment banks, and other stakeholders to broaden capital-raising opportunities.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on fundraising efforts, providing strategic insights and recommendations to leadership.
Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in capital raising, investment banking, private equity, or a related field with a proven track record of securing significant funding.
  • Networking Skills: Extensive network of investors and financial professionals within London and beyond.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of financial instruments, capital markets, and investment structures.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Independence: Highly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing projects with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of African Markets: Familiarity with African business opportunities and markets is a strong advantage.
  • Tech Proficiency: Proficient in financial tools, CRM software, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
