About the Role

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Estates Department manages a property portfolio across East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

The estate comprises 26 sites with a total internal floor area of approximately 20,000 sqm, plus an HQ in Lewes shared with Sussex Police.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Capital Projects Manager within the Estates Team. The role involves assisting and deputising for the Strategic Estates Manager to plan and deliver the Estates Strategy, focusing on major capital projects across the County.

Candidate Requirements
  • Appropriate professional qualification or degree, or significant professional client-side estates & project management experience in both public and private sectors.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality, complex, major capital construction projects in occupied operational buildings.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, complex mechanical & electrical systems, facilities management, and public sector procurement.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary external consultant teams.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driving licence and ability to undertake site surveys.
  • Availability to be at Lewes HQ as needed and travel throughout the county, including overnight stays.
  • Completion of a standard DBS check as part of pre-employment checks.
