Job summary

FUJIFILM Biotechnologies is seeking a Capital Projects Manager (Construction) in Billingham to own end-to-end delivery of site capital projects. You will lead governance, engage stakeholders, manage risks, procurement, validation and commissioning, ensuring safety, quality, schedule and cost targets are met.

You will collaborate with clients, contractors and internal teams, drive cost reporting, and ensure compliance with CDM and GMP standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
• Proven track record delivering capital projects in a regulated environment (biotech, pharma, chemicals, FMCG or similar).
• Strong cost control, forecasting and schedule management skills across full project lifecycle.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to chair multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Robust understanding of CDM Regulations and duty holder responsibilities.
• Experience with validation and commissioning in GMP or similarly regulated settings.
• Competence in procurement, tendering, vendor evaluation and contract administration (NEC/JCT exposure desirable).
• Ability to manage scope, change control, risk registers and project governance.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of capital projects to baseline scope, schedule, budget and quality KPIs.
• Proactively manage, forecast and report project costs; contribute to monthly cost reports and Tier updates.
• Lead regular project progress meetings with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.

• Oversee tender strategy and execution (for projects >£10k) with Procurement; evaluate bids and select vendors with SMEs.
• Ensure compliance with all site procedures, quality standards and capital project processes.
• Lead validation and commissioning planning and execution with appropriate resources.
• Manage project communications across site operations, partners and third parties.
• Drive closure of actions from HAZOP, HAZID, Safety Reviews and TQs without impacting schedule.
