Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hackneyto assist with the appointment of a Capital Projects Manager, on a 10-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £31.44 - £43.21 per Hour

Summary:

The Capital Projects Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering individual projects within the Councils Corporate Capital Programme. This includes managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the required specification. The role involves leadership of multidisciplinary teams and close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure effective, high-quality outcomes across a variety of capital schemes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage capital projects across all stages from feasibility to completion.
• Procure and oversee external consultants and contractors to deliver projects efficiently.
• Ensure delivery of projects to time, budget, and agreed specifications.
• Maintain robust contract and financial controls, including compliance with governance processes.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies, including funding partners like the GLA.
• Monitor and report on project performance, risks, and milestones.
• Contribute to borough-wide energy and carbon reduction strategies through capital delivery.

Qualification:

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
• MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Recognised project management qualification.
