About your new company

Come and join the Western Sydney Airport team delivering Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, the lynchpin of the extraordinary transformation currently underway to develop Sydney’s third city and Aerotropolis. One of the largest infrastructure projects underway in Australia, Western Sydney International will open to international, domestic and air cargo services in late 2026 and will eventually grow to be one of Australia’s biggest gateways to the world.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Capital Projects Manager is a critical role responsible for the fixed asset program for a multi-billion dollar nationally significant infrastructure project. This role will be a fixed assets subject matter expert, including performance analysis, business partnering with key internal stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements and compliance with fixed assets accounting policies and accounting standards (AASB).

Your role will be responsible for:

  1. Leading the development and implementation of WSA’s financial fixed assets registers, partnering with the WSA Asset Management and Technology teams to ensure asset data alignment and consistency.
  2. Developing the governance, policies and processes for the ‘whole of life’ assets function to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  3. Development of sound budgeting and forecasting of fixed assets, including depreciation and future growth and maintenance capital expenditure requirements.
  4. Business partnering to drive outcomes and manage capital expenditure projects.
  5. Implement and maintain best in class governance and risk management, including maintaining strong internal control frameworks and accountability.
  6. Support commercial pricing strategy development, business cases and Corporate Financial Model requirements.
  7. Support and collaborate with the asset management function regarding the maintenance and operationalisation of the infrastructure and assets.

About You

We’d like to hear from you if you have the following:
  1. Hold a professional accounting qualification, having preferably started your career within a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm where you have gained technical accounting skills and sound knowledge of accounting standards within Audit.
  2. Infrastructure projects or regulated industries experience beneficial.
  3. Interpersonally, you are inquisitive by nature with strong attention to detail and show resilience.
  4. Have a ‘hands-on’ work ethos and are comfortable working in the detail.
  5. Be a self-starter with ideas, initiatives, and a forward-thinking approach, happy to challenge and communicate effectively with peers and managers.
  6. Can bring their technical accounting skills to best understand the impact on business strategy.
