Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our Financial Services team, focusing on Capital Markets customers in the UK. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, helping leading financial institutions innovate and transform their business using AWS technologies.

Solutions Architects work with AWS customers to maximize cloud value, owning the technical relationship and delivering prescriptive guidance on security, cost, performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military.
• Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals.
• Experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking.
• Experience working with end user or developer communities.
• Experience in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical relationship with the customer and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide
• Lead technical discussions, architecture design and reviews, and workshops across trading, risk, post-trade, market data, asset and wealth management domains to drive business value
• Design scalable and secure solutions leveraging AWS services and emerging technologies (AI/ML, HPC)
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop and execute customer engagement strategies
• Create technical content and reference architectures for capital markets use cases
• Influence AWS product roadmap based on customer needs
