The role:

A career within Capital Markets will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for complex financial reporting issues around deals and other transformational events. You’ll address your client’s needs with a solution-oriented approach that creatively tackles complex financial reporting problems for high-profile transactions, involving significant interaction with senior company management, bankers, lawyers, and advisers. You will work on various transactions and workstreams with high-profile clients across diverse industries.

We foster a culture of consultation, with partners and directors working closely with junior team members to share knowledge and experience.

What your days will look like:
  • Writing and reviewing financial assurance/diligence reports, comfort letters, and transaction documents (e.g., prospectuses, shareholder circulars, offering memorandums), while identifying critical risks and working with the team to address them.
  • Interacting with client management and business owners to verify information in transaction documents and understand financial reporting processes, business performance, and commercial issues.
  • Managing teams on various engagements, owning all aspects of delivery, project and team management, monitoring performance and quality.
  • Leading on complex accounting issues related to capital markets transactions under IFRS or US GAAP, including GAAP conversions.

This role is for you if:

  • You possess a Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS / US CPA qualification (or an international equivalent).
  • Experience with US SEC reporting, PCAOB auditing standards, and US GAAP is highly desirable.
  • You have strong team management skills, including managing teams, coaching, sharing knowledge, and fostering a positive team environment.
  • You demonstrate strong project management skills, with experience handling changing deadlines and adapting to evolving work demands.
  • You have a track record of high-quality work, attention to detail, quick information assimilation, and handling ambiguity in time-sensitive environments.
  • You are capable of understanding and applying relevant capital market rules and regulations in the UK and/or US.
