Job description

RCK Partners is a market-leading consultancy specialising in innovation-based tax relief schemes, and we’ve achieved exceptional success since our inception five years ago. We partner with some of the UK’s finest and most reputable brands across a multitude of sectors.

We are recruiting this role to join our Capital Allowances team. Our team has extensive experience of providing advice to a diverse mixture of clients, across all sectors and industries, during the design, construction, acquisition and disposal process. We specialise in undertaking fully disclosed capital allowances reports on behalf of our clients that can be submitted to HMRC, to support claims for capital allowances purposes.

The successful candidate will ideally have some experience in the capital allowances sector. We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven individual who has an interest in undertaking analytical work. They must be able to demonstrate reliability, flexibility and initiative. The candidate must also have the ability to work under pressure, in order to meet client filing deadlines, and be able adapt to ever changing client and market requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed Capital Allowances claims in line with current UK tax legislation
  • Assisting with cost planning and responding to HMRC queries
  • Cost analysis of building contract documentation & company accounts additions
  • Undertaking land valuations for tax purposes
  • Assisting with site surveys, for capital allowances purposes
  • Analysing fixed asset additions to identify expenditure qualifying for capital allowances
  • Being involved in a range of capital allowances advisory work including land remediation, transaction planning and technical advisory work
  • Preparing client pitches and client presentations
  • Assisting with the capital allowances due diligence process on acquisitions and disposals
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet project deadlines and contribute to process improvements

Person Specification

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering Capital Allowances claims
  • RICS qualified Surveyor desirable, however could be someone working towards RICS/ATT/CTA qualifications
  • A keen interest in finance / tax and the real estate sector
  • Articulate and professional
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
  • Resilient, adaptable and above all, keen and enthusiastic with a hunger to learn and diversify
  • A team player
  • Confident to meet, network and socialise with potential and existing clients
  • Eligible to work in the UK
