Job summary

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Capital Accountant to manage monthly and quarterly capital accounting reports. You will work with the Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Controller to ensure accurate schedules and supporting papers for audits.

The role requires strong IFRS knowledge and VAT experience, with a focus on robust financial reporting across capital projects and VAT compliance within the NHS framework.

Qualifications

• Education & Qualifications: First degree or equivalent.
• The post holder must be a fully qualified member of a CCAB body or studying towards such a qualification and actively undertaking CPD.

Responsibilities

• Complete capital schedules for quarterly monitoring returns and year-end accounts with full supporting papers.
• Ensure monthly accounting timetable for capital and VAT tasks is met.
• Serve as reference point for Internal and External Audit for smooth audit process.
• Assist in production of the Annual Report and Summary Financial Statements as required.
