Capital Accountant - 1 year contract Full or P/T

The Vacancy

If you're available now / next couple of weeks you could be joining our friendly team as a Capital Accountant and help us deliver impactful housing and development projects that change lives. Ideally to start in the next couple if weeks

What You'll Do
As a key member of our Finance team, you'll manage our Fixed Asset Registers and capital transactions from project inception to completion. You'll ensure accurate reporting, support strategic projects, and help shape our capital accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain project ledgers and fixed asset registers
Track development programme progress and financials
Prepare capitalisation and depreciation journals
Lead on year-end capital accounting and statutory returns
Support acquisitions, disposals, and grant reporting

You'll need to be at least part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) with strong Excel and analytical skills and a solid understanding of capital accounting. With excellent communication skills and attention to detail. If you have experience in Social Housing or the property sectors - even better!

Reduced-Hours Opportunity We welcome applications from candidates interested in a reduced-hours contract (circa 30 hours over 4/5 days) please specify this clearly at the application stage. Our standard weekly hours are 37-hour; 09:00 - 17:30 Monday to Thursday, and 09:00 - 17:00 on Fridays. This needs to fit our month end reporting requirements which may require flexibility at these times.

Where could this role take you? Whilst this role is fixed term for 12 months, in a business our size; circa 630 employees and turnover £150m+ (which is growing) and with the transformation we are going through, there is a possibility that this could either be extended, made permanent or other suitable opportunities may arise. Many of our talented colleagues started at Paradigm as temporary/interim and have gone on to forge successful careers with us. However, if something longer term doesn't materialise, you will still gain valuable experience which will add to your employability in this and similar fields
