Job summary

Marcenta Chartering & Shipping Ltd is expanding its Capesize desk and seeking an experienced dry bulk ship broker to source cargo and vessel positions, negotiate freight and charter terms, and manage Capesize tonnage across major iron ore and coal trades.

You will build direct relationships with owners, traders and miners, track BCI movements, and coordinate with the operations desk to ensure seamless post-fixture handovers in a fast-paced market.

Qualifications

• Proven experience broking or chartering Capesize dry bulk tonnage.
• Strong understanding of iron ore, coal and Capesize trade routes.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, market-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Source and verify Capesize cargo and tonnage opportunities
• Negotiate freight rates, laycans and charter party terms
• Maintain and grow relationships with owners, charterers and traders
• Track Baltic Capesize Index (BCI) movements and bunker levels to price fixtures accurately
• Work closely with the operations desk to ensure a smooth handover post-fixture
