Capability Leader Job Description

In this role, you’ll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world. It starts with YOU. In this role, you will:

  1. Develop the capability of our leaders and technical teams by providing access to necessary learning, leveraging technology, and aligning with the strategic goals of the business to improve performance.
  2. Create the Learning & Development (L&D) strategy aligned with organizational and people strategies.
  3. Ensure consistent application of the L&D strategy across the Mills.
  4. Develop training plans based on current and future skill requirements, addressing competence gaps and needs.
  5. Oversee the formation of training strategies and plans to address skill gaps and drive succession planning for critical roles.
  6. Conduct GAP analyses based on FDP outcomes to identify training needs.
  7. Champion Lean/Continuous Improvement manufacturing initiatives to drive efficiencies.
  8. Design and implement Skills Matrices for day and technical employees, overseeing programs like learnerships and internships.
  9. Monitor assessments and documentation processes within the Mills for quality assurance and record-keeping.
  10. Support regional talent development programs.
  11. Evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions and measure ROI, proposing best practices.
  12. Develop alternative training methods if improvements are not achieved.
  13. Update learning materials to align with the National Qualification Framework.
  14. Lead capability development in new projects, customizing processes and coordinating training for new or upgraded machinery.
  15. Manage relationships with training providers, overseeing SLAs and ensuring quality standards.
  16. Use training planning to determine budgets and monitor training costs.

Qualifications include:

  • Technical qualifications are advantageous.

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Design and development experience, preferably within manufacturing.
