We are currently seeking Remote Contract Cantonese Interpreters who have a sincere desire to utilize their language skills to help people and are passionate about their work.

Contract Responsibilities:

1. Provides consecutive, first-person interpretation.
2. Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio Language Services.
3. Adheres to all Propio Language Services policies and procedures related to confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
4. Continuously enhances vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge for various clients, such as medical, legal, social services, etc.

Requirements:

• Submission of an updated Resume in English at the time of application.
• Completion of English Language Proficiency with a rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the ILR scale).
• Successful completion of a Mockoral interpretation session with a passing score.
• Evaluation against 24 quality standards with a passing score.
• Completion of Propio's online Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology Assessment with a passing score.
• A full Background Check and Security Screen.
• A signed commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of interpreting experience.
