Job summary

Booker Group is seeking a proactive Canteen Assistant to support day-to-day operations in our canteen and kitchen areas. You will manage stock, perform quality checks, replenish vending machines, and assist with hospitality tasks.

A strong emphasis on health and safety and food hygiene is required to maintain a clean, safe working environment. You will follow checklists, manage your own tasks, and work as part of a team to keep service smooth and foods prepared to standard.

Qualifications

• Friendly, customer-focused attitude and team player.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Able to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Sound numeracy and literacy skills for everyday stocking and record-keeping.
• Willingness to follow health & safety procedures (HACCP, COSHH, allergen controls).

Responsibilities

• Stock management and stock control.
• Code checking and quality verification of stock.
• Replenishment and cleaning of vending machines.
• Hospitality support within canteen facilities.
• Follow daily checklists and cleaning schedules; maintain canteen hygiene.
• Adhere to food hygiene/HACCP/Allergen/COSHH guidelines at all times.
• Support in maintaining housekeeping in canteen and kitchen areas.
