About the role

This is a new role within the newly opened canteen at Booker Distribution Fareham.

You will have previous experience of working in a kitchen.

Working in a small team of catering assistants, you will provide hot and cold food service to colleagues and ensure that the canteen area is clean and tidy at all times.

Responsibilities

• Ordering stock for food preparation and vending machines.
• Supporting stock management and control.
• Checking stock quality and codes.
• Preparing food according to hygiene regulations.
• Managing vending machine replenishment, pricing, cleaning, and cash collection.
• Providing hospitality support.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the canteen, kitchen, dining area, and counters.
• Adhering to food hygiene, HACCP, allergen, and COSHH guidelines.
• Monitoring temperature controls and expiry dates.

Requirements

• Essential cooking experience.
• Food hygiene & safety Level 2.
• Allergen training certification.
• Food handling qualification.
• Excellent customer service attitude, friendly and outgoing.
• Teamwork skills.
• High presentation standards and ability to serve a varied menu.
• Ability to prepare, cook, serve food, and perform cleaning and stock duties.
