Job summary

Farmfoods are hiring Canteen Assistants at our distribution centre in Appleton, Warrington. The role is permanent, full time, with 4 out of 7 days and 30 hours per week, with overtime regularly available. Pay ranges from £13.69 to £14.85 per hour depending on shift timings.

Duties include food preparation, cooking and counter serving, receiving deliveries, fridge replenishment, and cleaning. We value reliability, basic food hygiene, and good numeracy and literacy.

Job description

We are looking to recruit Canteen Assistants who will be responsible for preparing hot & cold food at our distribution centre in Appleton, Warrington.

We offer a permanent, Full Time position, working 4 out of 7 days each week. You will be guaranteed 30 hours per week. If you’re looking to earn a bit more then overtime is regularly available.

Shift patterns available:

• Day shift: 06:00 to 14:00

Pay, working hours & benefits

The pay will range between £13.69 and £14.85 per hour dependant on the timings of your shift. This can be discussed with the hiring manager.

Duties

• Food preparation tasks;
• Cooking and counter serving of meals;
• Receiving and moving of deliveries to kitchen storage;
• Replenishment of fridges
• Cleaning of kitchen utensils, appliances and surfaces.

About You

This is a busy canteen, so the ability to work under pressure without supervision is essential. Candidates should also be able to communicate effectively and posses general numeracy and literacy skills.

Food hygiene is very important, so a basic food hygiene qualification would be desirable as well as an understanding of workplace health and safety.
