Job summary

Code 9 Security is recruiting a General Purpose Dog Handler for Basingstoke. You will join the Patrol and Response Team, typically vehicle-based, on a 10-hour shift from Basingstoke or Southampton, patrolling and securing premises.

Ideal candidates hold a frontline SIA licence, NASDU certification, a full UK driving licence (≤3 penalty points) and a First Aid at Work qualification. Living wage levels start at £27,000 per annum and rise to £31,500 with benefits and leave.

Qualifications

• Frontline SIA licence in Security Guarding, Door Supervision or Close Protection.
• NASDU Certification or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
• First Aid at Work Qualification.
• Proven experience as a security officer.
• Familiarity and competence in report writing.
• Ability to work confidently alone or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Proactively patrol the assigned premises, internally and externally, using your general-purpose patrol dog as appropriate.
• Lock up and alarm the client's premises in accordance with the assignment instructions, ensuring all exits, doors, and windows are appropriately secured.
• Promptly challenge trespassers and facilitate the safe removal of the same, reporting the same on an incident report.
• Proactively and promptly respond to support colleagues and react to observed threats or alarm activations.
• Investigate suspicious activity, persons and vehicles of interest, sharing information with colleagues, HR, management and the police, as appropriate.
• Maintain appropriate records and detailed accounts of incidents.
• Challenge, apprehend, detain and, where appropriate, arrest suspects and liaise with the police to preserve evidence, prepare statements and file incident reports.
• Assist stakeholders as appropriate.
• Act as an Ambassador for the Company, maintaining high standards of driving and professional behaviour.
