We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Cancer Services Project Officer to join our dynamic Cancer Services team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. In this vital role, you will support the delivery of patient-centred service improvement projects focused on the early diagnosis of cancer, in line with the NHS Faster Diagnosis Framework. Working across Yeovil District Hospital and Musgrove Park Hospital, you will coordinate initiatives that streamline urgent suspected cancer pathways, ensuring patients receive a confirmed diagnosis or have cancer ruled out within 28 days of referral. As Cancer Services Project Officer, you will play a central role in supporting the delivery of service improvement projects aimed at the earlier detection and diagnosis of cancer. Working closely with clinical and operational teams across Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, you will coordinate initiatives that streamline cancer pathways, reduce delays, and align with national standards. Your responsibilities will include analysing performance data, facilitating workshops, engaging with patients and stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of innovative, patient-centred solutions. You will also provide high-quality project and administrative support across multiple workstreams, ensuring timely progress, effective communication, and the sustained delivery of improvements that enhance outcomes for patients across Yeovil District Hospital and Musgrove Park Hospital.
