East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust

We have an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to develop their knowledge and skills in Cancer Services. You will be supported by a team of experienced Pharmacists working to provide chemotherapy to patients across east Kent.

You will collaborate with our Oncology and Haematology Pharmacists, as well as the Aseptic Production Unit and Dispensary teams, to ensure the safe and appropriate supply of chemotherapy.

Main duties of the job

  1. Provide clinical pharmacy input into oncology/haematology prescriptions generated from Chemotherapy Units across the Trust.
  2. Support the Aseptics Unit in supplying systemic anticancer and clinical trial medical products.
  3. Identify risk management issues and develop safe systems of practice within the chemotherapy units.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Post-registration hospital experience demonstrating clinical competence in various environments.
  • Experience across a range of clinical specialties.

Skills

  • Demonstrate 'usually' or 'consistently' competent levels in General/ Foundation Level Framework.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of core pharmaceutical needs of patients in diverse clinical settings.

Qualifications

  • Four-year Master's degree in Pharmacy from a UK School of Pharmacy or an equivalent qualification recognized by The General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain.
