Job summary

Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Scotland is seeking highly motivated pharmacy support workers to join the cancer pharmacy team. You will primarily work within dispensing and aseptic areas but will also gain experience in pharmacy stores and outpatient and ward areas.

You will need to be flexible, organised, work well within a team and have a positive, can do attitude. The post holders will be required to participate in weekend and public holiday rotas and full aseptic training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience is essential.
• NVQ2 qualification in pharmacy services or working towards one.
• Willing to work weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through the dispensary and sterile aseptic unit; provide support to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
• Dispense chemotherapy and medicines for side effect management.
• Stock control and co-ordinating medicines delivery.
• Environmental monitoring and transfer of products for aseptic manufacture.
• Administrative tasks and general pharmacy support.
