Cancer MDT Streamlining Project Manager

An exciting development opportunity, managing the implementation of an optimisation toolkit across all Cancer Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT)s facilitated by UHNM, focusing on improved function of individual MDTs and increasing efficiencies for clinical and non-clinical staff involved in a patient\'s cancer journey.

The post holder will support, facilitate and monitor the progress of the project as directed by Cancer Services in line with Cancer Alliance planning guidance.

The post holder will engage with all members of the MDT (clinical, non-clinical and managerial) to enable streamlining practices to be introduced and monitored against a clear action plan. The post holder will be required to motivate staff to encourage collaborative working in the design of new ways of working and provide ongoing support whilst maintaining quality and safety of patients

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will become the lead for the Cancer MDT Optimisation project across all cancer MDTs across UHNM, looking to implement a specific toolkit to ensure efficient and effective MDT meetings for our patients and staff. The proven ability to work with a range of staff members, both clinical and non-clinical to facilitate improved processes being embedded and then monitored is vital. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is demonstrable experience of project management in the delivery of service improvement.

Qualifications
  • Education to post-graduate degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience

  • Project Management qualification such as Prince2.

  • Highly developed influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexible and adaptable
Skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power-Point, Outlook, Teams.
  • A good working knowledge of Cancer MDT processes and CWT targets.
  • Experience of working to fixed deadlines and timescales with proven record of achieving these.
  • Ability to work under own initiative whilst achieving set deadlines.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings, workshops and staff engagement sessions with detailed action logs.
  • Experience in cross organisational working.
  • Experience of facilitating cancer MDTs.
  • Experience of service redesign or improvement.
