Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking an Underwriting Assistant in London to provide full administrative support to the Canadian Liability Underwriting Team. The role reports to the Head of Delegated Underwriting and Canadian Liability – Professional Risks and offers hybrid working with four days in the office.

You will assist with binding authorities processing, broker relations, portfolio monitoring, renewals, and ad-hoc projects, developing detailed administrative and analytical

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ liability experience with an insurer, Lloyd’s syndicate, broking firm, MGA or coverholder.
• Strong organisational skills and a proven ability to solve problems and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a similar role (1–2 years).
• Strong analytical skills to assist in portfolio management and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Minimum three A-levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
• A high level of IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the processing and reporting of Canadian binding authorities.
• Providing a service to and developing relationships with a panel of brokers.
• Collating information to facilitate monitoring of the portfolio’s performance.
• Following the Liability team’s administrative procedures and addressing issues.
• Liaising with claims personnel and responding to information requests.
• Undertaking ad-hoc projects as required.
• Administration of the renewal process including chasing outstanding renewals.
• Liaising with administrative support staff and providing assistance where required.
