Job summary

Falmouth Exeter Plus is seeking a Safety and Support Officer to join the Safety and Support Team across our Cornwall campuses. The role blends proactive campus safety with frontline welfare and pastoral support, delivering a supportive student and campus experience.

You will patrol, respond to welfare concerns, support wellbeing, and operate CCTV/Access control while working within a close-knit team and a 4 on/4 off night shift pattern. The DBS check and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

Experience in customer-facing roles handling challenging interactions.
Ability to stay calm, professional and compassionate under pressure.
Strong judgement and decision-making in safety, welfare and incidents.
Good written reporting and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct foot and vehicle patrols across campus and off-site accommodation.
Respond to incidents, alarms, emergencies and welfare concerns.
Provide compassionate support to students experiencing wellbeing or mental health difficulties.
Assist with building evacuations, first aid incidents and emergency response procedures.
Monitor and operate security systems including CCTV, SafeZone and access control.
