Job summary

UPP is seeking a Technical Maintenance Supervisor (Electrical or Plumbing bias) to join our Oxford onsite team. You will lead a small maintenance crew, plan daily activities, and ensure high standards for student accommodation services.

You’ll manage a 40-hour week, drive the PPM programme, supervise staff, and be hands-on when required. The role offers a competitive salary up to £44,000 with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to develop the team’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a maintenance team in a similar environment (e.g., student accommodation or facilities).
• Knowledge of planned preventive maintenance regimes for mechanical, electrical, and building fabric elements.
• Understanding of statutory compliance and a safe work culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a maintenance team of 4 to deliver day-to-day maintenance and lifecycle works.
• Deliver the annual PPM programme in a timely manner within budget.
• Manage CAFM system, allocate tasks, and maintain records of breakdowns and repairs.
• Supervise sub-contracted and in-house staff, issue permits-to-work and monitor training records.
• Plan staff resources and monitor performance; ensure health and safety practices are followed.
• Assist GM with sinking fund programme and escalate safety issues when needed.
• Participate in an on-call rota and support student arrivals/departures.
